EAT, PRAY, LOVE by Elizabeth Gilbert

Product Description
This book is now something of a word of mouth best seller - also to be read and listened to by men. it makes rapturous listening to take us through the oncoming winter months.
Although Elizabeth Gilbert is in her 30's in this memoir, it's really a book for anyone who is questioning everything they thought they were 'supposed' to want and by when they were 'supposed' to have it.
In her early thirties, Elizabeth Gilbert had everything a modern American woman was supposed to want--husband, country home, successful career--but instead of feeling happy and fulfilled, she felt consumed by panic, confusion and ingratitude. This wise and rapturous book is the story of how she left behind all these outward marks of success, and of what she found in their place.
She finally admits she does not want a baby, her marriage falls apart, she survives a bitter divorce with her ex-husband taking all the 'goodies' of her life with him. Her job falls apart, her rebound relationship leaves her reeling - all of which finally leave her unable to do anything but look at the empty hole she's been calling living.
Following a crushing depression, Gilbert set out to examine three different aspects of her nature, set against the backdrop of three different cultures: the art of pleasure in Italy, devotion in India, and the art of balancing the two in Indonesia. By the end of the book, she becomes a self-governing individual in love with life and God.
Her writing and observations are wry and witty. It's a book about finding the sweet life and how to live it. It's a book for helping readers fall in love with life again.
The novel has also been filmed with Julia Roberts in the title role - CLICK HERE TO SEE CLIP
